How To Manage Your Time
Time can not be stored or recalled; it is finite and always in short
supply. When it comes to time we rarely use it to its fullest potential. Most people, Nonetheless, have a very inaccurate estimation of where their
time has gone.
When it comes to remembering time our mind can a lot of the time lead to misleading results.
This need not be the case. The most
successful people in the world routinely brake down what their day is spent on to make sure they are not wasting their day. The principle can be made habitual to
alleviate the anguish, and if it is done regularly - and the
results acted up on - it will lead to a remarkable improvement in execution. Because you will be focusing more of your precious time on the
chores that count.
Instead of sitting in your favorite beanbag trying to retrieve the events of the day, you should journal the day as it goes. To get a complete picture, the journal needs to be done over a long period - to
shine any cyclic patterns. In the real world, of course, this would be impossible. Although, you should make it a goal to journal each day of the week. This can be spread out over several weeks to alleviate the burden. For example:
Week one you can journal Monday and Friday, week two Tuesday and Thursday, and week three Wednesday.
It is a must to write down the events as they occur, and in enough specific detail that the day can be broke down in the future. Now that you have all of theresults you need to analyze the data, you need to do just that. There are two ways of analyzing your data.
First you could critique you time and put the events into different categories:
meetings, selling, follow ups etc. You will be surprised at how much of your time is wasted and not spent to your main job
Second think about What would happen if this job was not done?" If the
answer is not a single thing, then the course of action is clear. If not doing the exact action would've no
positive effect on your job, spirituality, business, what ever it is you are trying to organize your day for, then
do not bother to do it. Even so, most of the events will have some value, so you next need to consider: "Could someone else do this better?" With a little breaking downs, you can organize your time and accomplish your goal much easier and much more
expeditiously.
