How To Think Positive
The topic of positivity has become very embraced and you would be hard pressed to find somebody that hasn't flipped through at least something on the matter. Just about every intelligent person knows about the benefits of positive thinking. But how many of us are employing the positive thinking attitude in our day to day life consistently?
commonly we dip into a book on positive thinking, get inspired and then after few weeks --most of the time only after few days, go back to our usual style of thinking. Why do not we make positive thinking as our way of being? Is this way of thinking very difficult to take on, or is it that our setting and people around us are so negative that it is practically inconceivable for an individual to become positive and remain so?
Really if you ponder about it, people really do not stick with this positive-thinking approach. Why? Mainly Because of two reasons.
People fail to understand the essence of the inner workings of positive thinking and apply it in a wrong way.
They expect over night results and when they do not see any perceptible benefit with in a period of two to three days they loose attentiveness. And slowly their habitual thought pattern comes back.
80% of the thoughts of a normal person are not positive. When we start thinking positively we just accommodate a new course of thought --which is positive-- with all our negative thoughts. “I’ll get the raise easily”. This is a conscious thought stream. But in the evening returning home from work we keep thinking negatively and how hard it is going to be. This negative thought comes to our brain automatically (unconsciously). We process this thought with lots of negative emotion. And all these happen without our being knowledgeable of what we are doing.
To unleash the full potential of positive thinking we have to arrest and kill negative thought process. You can do it! It is not back breaking and becomes simpler with practice.
So how do we get speedy results from our positive thinking efforts. To be honest their is no fast way to see results overnight. When used properly positive thinking has the power to do wonders in your life. The best thing to do is get started. After that stay engrossed and the results will come.
