How to blag yourself a taste of luxury

Ever wanted to get a taste of how the other half lives? Sick of slumming it in the cramped and stuffy confines of economy? For those of us who's budget won't stretch to the frankly astronomical extra cost of first class flight tickets or who can't rely on the perks of work-related travel to get a taste of business class, it might be best to reconcile yourself to a lifetime of economy class discomfort. Unless, that is, you manage to wangle the holy grail of air travel – an upgrade.

Flight upgrades are a topic shrouded in mystery. The airlines are unlikely to make whatever policies they might have public. The logic being I suppose that if passengers come see it as a realistic possibility they'll be less than thrilled when it turns out not to be possible – not good PR. Indeed, before I go any further I should suggest that this remains a working assumption – upgrades aren't something most of us should come to expect but, hey, it can't hurt to give it a try. Familiarise yourself with the following tips and who knows?

• What every prospective upgrade blagger should be aiming for is an SFU stamp on their boarding pass. This stands for Suitable For Upgrade so if you see NSFU (Not Suitable For Upgrade) forget it, the games up.

• So, how does one go about getting the SFU stamp of approval? Well, first of all make yourself presentable. This basically means dress to impress and let's face it nobody's going to be impressed if you roll up looking like you've just spent the night sleeping rough. The logic here is obvious - dress like a well-heeled businessperson and you won't look out of place in business class.

• Travel alone and you're bound to improve your chances over anyone who turns up with their whole family in tow. Essentially the lone traveler will always be easier to accommodate in those elusive first class seats than a large party of people. The big exception to this rule is honeymooning couples, if you genuinely have just got married take along your marriage certificate or at least let the staff know - even if you don't get an upgrade a complementary bottle of champagne is a real possibility.

• Who you are can make a big difference and I don't just mean the usual Celebrity / VIP candidates. It's actually well reported that those with a Dr or Rev title on their passport are often given very accommodating treatment. Perhaps airlines imagine they'll be more responsible when it comes to the complementary champagne.

• Logically it makes sense that the more first class seats there are going, the better chance you've got of nabbing one. Check out which of the viable airlines for your journey has the largest fist class area by looking on their websites.

• On a similar note, avoid travel times when business class is likely to be full. This means non-working hours or the weekend. However much of a drag getting an early morning flight can be, this might just be the best opportunity.

• A bit of subtlety could well pay dividends – if other passengers hear you've successfully blagged an upgrade they might expect the same treatment so check-in staff probably won't risk it. A bit of subtlety could go a long way.

How to Get Great Deals on Published Airfares

Believe it or not, the price one passenger paid for an airline ticket could be cheaper or more expensive than the one bought by another. There are many reasons that could explain this so here are some tips on how to get great deals on vacations.

1. The first thing to do will be to call the airline company. Some promos are advertised in the newspaper or in the website while others are done without that much marketing effort.

2. If the passenger travels often on business, most carriers have mileage plus programs and instead of just collecting it, perhaps this is the best time to redeem it. If this is not enough for the trip, maybe this can be used to transfer to business class.

3. The next thing to do will be to check out low budget carriers that are also flying in the same destination. The price difference may not be that far apart but every cent saved can be used somewhere else.

4. Aside from the usual published airfares website, there are also others websites that offer budget trips. The person should look at this and compare before choosing to book the flight.

5. It is funny how a flight from California to New York only cost $199 in some months and $399 at certain times of the year. The sudden price hike is not because of the price of fuel went up. This is because the holidays are considered to be the peak months and this is the only time airline companies can make a ton of money.

Those who are planning on vacation can save money by traveling during the lean months instead of going what everyone else is doing. If this is not possible, the other way to save money is by flying during the middle of the week or during off hours because the price also goes down and the seats have to be filled.

6. The person may not know anyone in the next destination. One way to save money is by booking a flight that already includes car rental, travel insurance and hotel accommodation.

7. The other way to save a few dollars is by staying for a few days with friends and family members so that the money that is supposed to pay for the hotel can be used for shopping.

8. Another way to get great deals on vacation is by looking into courier flights. This is something that people often overlook but a few dollars can be saved in exchange for being a courier for a few hours.

9. Some airline companies give discounts for those who travel in groups of 4 or 6. The customer can ask about this or do some research on the web because every dollar counts when the family decides to go on a trip.

10. It is also possible to get last minute bargains but this means being a chance passenger to the desired destination. This happens when a passenger makes a last minute cancellation.

The tips mentioned are guaranteed to make the passenger save money and have the rest of the family enjoy the trip. After reading this information, those who have never done this before should start planning in advance the next vacation.

How to Find a Luxury Resort in Ontario, Canada

With all of the resorts and cottages in Ontario, Canada, finding one that provides the luxury and amenities you are seeking can be difficult. The following paragraphs will explain important factors to consider when planning a Canadian resort vacation.

The first thing to consider before planning a Canadian resort vacation is the additions, expansions, or renovations that have taken place. This is important because it will give you an idea as to the comfort of your stay and if the amenities are up-to-date and provide the aesthetics and atmosphere you are seeking.

The second area of consideration when looking for a luxury resort vacation in Ontario, Canada is the choice of accommodations. Are you looking for a luxurious adult-only destination resort that provides all the luxury and comfort of a five-star hotel with the serenity and peaceful surroundings of nature? Or, are you looking for a Canadian resort with private log cottages that are ideal for families or group stays? Although those catering to family vacation getaways can still be luxurious, typically the environment is slightly more casual and will offer different amenities and activities.

Another important aspect to consider when planning a Canadian resort vacation is whether it supports issues that you feel are important. Are you interested in a resort that is environmentally friendly and uses ecologically clean material? Or do you prefer a resort that is more conservative and extends their concern for the environment to include use of wind or solar powered energy? Or do you prefer that they specialize in preparing purely organic food? Some Ontario resorts even support or host events that support certain environmental or fundraising events. If you know that a resort supports issues of interest, it is a great way to show your backing for the issue while taking advantage of an interesting vacation.

The fourth area of consideration when looking for a luxury resort in Ontario is the number of people traveling with you. Is it just you and your significant other? Or will the travel plans include your whole family? Or, is it a business retreat where you need multiple rooms available including a meeting room that can accommodate 25-100 people? These are all important factors because it will contribute to the convenience of the resort.

The final aspect to consider when planning a Canadian resort vacation is the amenities. This can vary greatly among resort or lodge destinations. Some locations are centered around a rustic feel with limited amenities that give you the opportunity to commune with nature, while others surrounding a natural setting may have more luxurious amenities that can include king-size beds, soaring cathedral ceilings, in-suite baths with 6-jet massage showers, plush terry robes, air-conditioning, entertainment units with 32" plasma TVs, VCR and DVD players, fridges, microwave ovens, cozy fireplaces, private decks, and scenic views. Some resort locations even offer special vacation packages or suites that feature romantic glass Jacuzzi tubs and personal infrared saunas.

With all of the resorts and cottages in Ontario, Canada, finding one that provides the luxury and amenities you are seeking can be difficult. However, by following the recommendations above, planning a Canadian resort vacation couldn't be easier.

How To Set And Prioritze Your Travel Goals

Travel can be a time and resource intensive activity. There are many things that can go wrong, and often do, but careful planning, prioritizing and goal setting can reduce the number and severity of most problems that may creep into your travel experiences. Learning how to set and prioritize your travel goals will take you a long way towards creating travel plans that will fit into your life and are more likely to bring you wonderful memories.

Treat Travel and Vacations Like Any Other Goal Driven Area of Your Life

Travel and vacations can be a major financial expenditure in anyone's life, and should be treated as such. Therefore, goals should be set before you plan your travel. Details such as how many coutries you want to visit, the number of cities do you want to visit, which tourist attractions you would like to experience, how do you plan to travel, and in what style do you plan to travel, should be asked before making your travel plans. Typically, the longer your vacation and the more places you choose to travel to, the more important it is to set your travel goals.

How Do You Create Your Travel Plans and Goals?

If you plan on making your travel goals successful, they must be specific and measurable, action-oriented, realistic, and have a fixed time span. A specific and measurable travel goal would include the destination, method of travel, what you plan to do, and who you plan to go with. The more specific you can get with the travel planning details, the better you can successfully plan a budget for your trip. An example of making specific plans would be: "I will travel within my budget, with my girlfriend to New Zealand for a bike touring vacation lasting two weeks within the next six months."

To make your goal action oriented, it should contain the verb of your choice of action. In the previous example the "I will travel within my budget" implies action, states intent, and indicates the type of preparation and planning required to carry out the task.

Your travel goal should also be realistic. When stating the goal, the two most important questions include, "Do I have the time and the money?" For many people, finding the money to travel, is easier than finding the time to travel. In our time-starved society today, it is a rare occasion that most people can afford to take the time off to take an extended vacation longer than 2 weeks. Other obstacles that can pose a challange include physical stamina, knowledge of the language and customs, and social/political unrest. If you have a bad heart, and don't know any of the native languages in Afghanistan, it may not realistic to plan a winter trek through the eastern mountains of Afghanistan.

The last part of your travel goals is that they should also be time constrained. Most people may say, "I want to go to Japan some day." However, it isn't enough of a motivating factor to complete your goals. You should say "I will go to Japan by October of next year."

Now You Should Prioritize Your Travel Goals

Once you have created clear goals for your vacation, it's time to prioritize them. This process is purely personal and based upon your own life situation. You can prioritize your goals based on time, by taking shorter trips now, and longer trips when your job situation changes, or taking more expensive trips now and less expensive trips later. You may prioritize your goals based upon your current and future health, where you take your trekking trips when you are physically in shape, and take your energy isn't as high.

Of course your life may take a turn in a completely different direction than expected, and in that case, you may need to adjust your goals. Even for huge life changing events, going through this process will give you a better chance at succeeding in your travel plans. Once you have taken the time to make them and write them down and make them clear, you can focus your time and energy into making them happen.

Careful planning and goal setting creates better focus so you know how to make your travel plans happen. Once you have set your goals and made your plans, you can begin to look for resources that will help you with your travel budget. Look online for prices, destination information, and other types of information that will help you reach your vacation goals.

How To Save And See More During Your Trip?

So you like to travel but do not have the money for it?! Do not worry you are not the only one. Actually, you are the majority; most of the people do not have enough money to travel as much as they would want to or at all.

So what can you do? Travel verry little or give up on travel at all?! Lucky for you there many ways in which you can travel, see the world and save money doing it.

The trick is to learn different ways for discount travel and then apply them each time you travel.

Most people travel only a few times in their lives, and when they do they want to see it all, especially if visiting a foreign, exotic country. What this means is that you are actually traveling all the time during your travel and that can be expensive.

It does not matter what country you visit, some things like train tickets, boat tickets, car or bike rentals, etc. are always going to cost you a lot of money. You can cut your expenses in half by deciding on your priorities and stay in one place for some time.
This will allow you to both save money and really discover the essence of the place you are visiting. If you agree to stay in one place, you will discover many alternative, discount ways to travel around.

For example, you can always rent an apartment in the city you wish to visit, not even the cheapest hotels can compete with this.

Another good thing about it is that little by little, you will develop relationship with natives and they can help you find where the best bargains are. What are good but cheap eating places, where to buy cheap clothes, etc.

Lots of people travel exactly on schedule, not wanting to miss anything and wanting to see everything. They use itineraries, and spend all of their vacation time constantly on the move and never really stopping to enjoy themselves.

One of my favorite movies is National Lampoons European Vacation, if you did not all ready, rent it to see what I mean.

Traveling all day on a cramped bus, hoping from train to train and sleeping in cheap hotels only to repeat it all in the morning does not sound fun to me. No doubt, you will see many things traveling like that, but it will cost you a lot of money and you might just miss the best, hidden places worth seeing.

When you start planning your trip, be sure to distinguish between experiencing new things and just seeing them. By staying longer, renting a place to live, you might discover that not only will you save money but also you will immerse yourself with the culture and that experience can be more valuable then anything else.

For a modern day generation like mine, I suggest you read the book The Beach by Alex Garland, just stay off the drugs, it does not improve the experience.

If you start, thinking and planning your trips in this way, you will get more out of your trips and have more of them.

How to Prepare for a Long Flight

The first thing I like to do is to get as little sleep as possible the night before I fly, this way by the time I get to the plane I can hopefully just go to sleep and wake up at my destination. I only recommend this if you are able to perform any tasks you need to do before your flight. If you have to drive for 5 hrs first you may want to get a good night sleep, and maybe take some Tylenol pm or something else to make you drowsy. Many people like to get a little drunk on a flight, I am not one of them, but if it helps you relax and get some sleep then I say go for it, just don’t allow yourself to drink to the point where you become an obnoxious drunk on a plane.

My next tip is to get to the airport 3 hours in advance, this is for 2 reasons. By getting there so early I am always one of if not the first to actually check in for my flight, which usually gets me a good seat, and I don’t have to wait in long lines. The other reason for always getting t the Air port at least 3 hrs before your flight is, if you check in early you cant get bumped from the plane, the people who get there last minute sometime here the words overbooked.

Things to pack in your carry on:

When ever possible I try to avoid putting things under the plane, but sometimes it is unavoidable, depending on how long I am going away for. What you take with you on the plane can make a big difference between having a pleasant flight and being so unbelievable bored that you go mad.

I always make sure to bring a fully charged MP3 player, my MP3 player hold 20 gigs of music so I never have to go into my bag to chance a CD or a memory card, and I have way more music to listen to then time to listen to it. This way I have the music for any mood I may be in, so I just load it up and listen as I fall asleep on the plane.

Just incase I cant sleep I will also make sure to bring a book with me, if for whatever reason I can not fall asleep which does happen to me, I like to take my mind off things by getting lost in a good story, but something light and entertaining, I have always found a good Action book or even Science Fiction to be good for that.

I also recommend bringing a thick soft sweater with you on the plane, this can be used if it is cold on the plane, or you can use it as an extra pillow.

I like to play video games, so I travel with one of the new hand held video games everywhere I go, so if I am not in the mood for reading I can play some games and keep myself occupied, and that really is the key. Keep yourself busy on the plane and you will be amazed at how fast the flight goes, if you stare at the clock and focus on the planes progress it will feel like forever.

How To Overcome Fear Of Flying - Pre Flight Tips

People with a fear of flying often fear the build up to taking a flight. Once off the flight, fearful flyers then dread the flight home for the fourteen days that they are away!

The main piece of advice we would give people with a fear of flying is preparation.

Maybe this sounds obvious?

The goal of travelling for anyone is to be as prepared as you can be. There was a saying in the military when I served which was that you are only as uncomfortable as you want to be.

This means giving yourself the best chances possible. I would divide the preparation into two parts practical and mental.

This article will give you a bit of the mental side to think about.

On the mental side, is it better to fill your head with positive messages you struggle to believe in or fill it with the latest information from Black Box or Crash Files?

Up to you of course. One thing I have noticed as recently as this weekend from people who fear flying is the following.

People with a fear of flying fill their heads with images of mass destruction. They have had years of practising watching how they die in their heads. It is quite a skill and takes a lot of practice but if you really apply yourself, you can really imagine the worst death possible.

If someone told you in the pub that they are rubbish at talking in front of people and it always goes badly. You then ask them how do you prepare for the public speaking then?

They reply that they imagine themselves standing up panicking, being lost for words, everyone laughing at them or their clothes falling off in front of the audience.

You would think them crazy to think about all that before and no wonder it does not go well with that mental preparation before hand.

One of the techniques we are trained in is NLP and we have a saying that you get more of what you pay attention to. In other words, the more that we think about something going wrong or us not coping with something, the more likely we get just that.

If you mentally practice anything enough times, you get better at it. Why not make your brain work for you instead and turn around the thought process.

You cannot afford the luxury of filling your mind with scary stuff. The more you seek out bad news to confirm that you have every right to keep your fear, the harder you make it for yourself to get over it.

I hope that you don't think me out of order. I am talking from watching people be scared and listening to what they say for over nine years.

Try an experiment if you like some convincing. Don't watch the news, listen to the news or read a newspaper for two weeks. If anyone tells you about some disaster in the public arena, say no thanks.

When your two weeks fast is up, watch the news.

I have tried this and I was shocked by how depressing the news is. 90 per cent of it will be bad news apart from the lighthearted story about the tap dancing labrador at the end of the news.

The scariest part when I tried this was not how depressing the news is but how easily I switch myself off to it. Bad news becomes the norm because we don't vet what comes into our heads. There has been some research into the Bystander effect when someone witnesses a disastor or accident and that someone does not step in to help. One reason put forward is that we have been desensitized to violence because there is so much on the telly.

How does this link to you?

The more you fill your head with the dire, the more you think it is normal.

Aircraft have incidents sometimes and when they do it is huge news. They don't crash often enough to justify fearing going on them unless you decide to be scared of every other form of travel too. Go and stand under the Heathrow Flight path and watch an aircraft land every 60 seconds and nothing will happen to any of them.

I was listening to the radio (breaking my own rules) and heard that 25 people are killed or seriously injured on the road every day.

Flying is safe. If things to happen it is so rare it is incredible.

How To Minimize Stress During World Travel and Tours

With world travel the very first thing you can do to reduce your stress levels is to have a travel agent you can trust. This is because you have no idea of all the rules and regulations that are going to come up during your world tours. Having an agent that you trust is a great source of stress reduction. This is because you do not have to worry about all the little details and the infinite amount of paperwork and changes that come up. A good travel agent can advise of things like your passports, visas, shots and immunizations, as well as providing tips on local customs and culture so that you can fit in more easily when you arrive.

There are a number of travel sites out there and the most popular ones deal with getting you the cheapest flights and hotels. This is great and wonderful for what they do and they are good at it. They however will not make sure that all the little details are taken care of or provide the personal touch that other sites and agencies can. I have found that world-travel-tour.com is one of those sites that does a good job of keeping their eye on all the small details.

World travel these days can be a very scary thing filled with all kinds of stress because of the events in the news. A good agent is aware of all those things and will do everything to make sure that you are safe. Your world tour will be enjoyable and relaxing when you have the assistance of a knowledgeable agent. Here are some other things to consider while on your world tour.

Make sure you have your schedule set and that you did allow yourself some "me time" in all the hustle and bustle of the trip that is something that can be easily forgotten. Keep your schedule realistic, these tour spots have been there for thousands of years and they will be there when you get to come back. Make sure you have a list of your medications and doctors so that if something should happen you can get proper treatment.

Bring a good book to read since the flights are long and you will have plenty of time to read and sleep. Make sure you get a good night's sleep before you head out on your flight. Even if your world travel is for business, schedule yourself some time for yourself to enjoy the new location you are in, instead of just trying to cram in back to back meetings and appointments. You will be able to enjoy being in the place you're at for the meeting and be well rested and be able to work better in the end.

Relax and enjoy your world tour and find all the secrets the world has to offer. If you go to world-travel-tour.com it will be a good start to finding what the secrets are. The secret after all is that this world travel stuff really does not have to be filled with stress and doubt. If you want that, then go to work, world travel is about stress free time for you.

How to make your dream wedding in the exotics of Jamaica

Jamaica lies south of Cuba in the western half of the Caribbean. Jamaica is the perfect place for a vacation wedding or a Jamaican honeymoon. It was for several centuries under British rule and has maintained close ties with the United Kingdom since independence in 1962. Jamaica is among the most distinctive of Caribbean isles, primarily as the birthplace of Rastafarianism, which suffuses the culture, as does the music of the island's most famous native son Bob Marley.

Jamaica prides itself on being a perfect wedding and honeymoon destination. Many resorts specialize in this market. Some, such as SuperClubs and Sandals (both known for their all-inclusive, couples-only resorts) even offer free wedding packages. The all-inclusive concept was born in Jamaica and no other destination has so successfully matured and marketed the concept.

There are many all-inclusive resorts, which are run to very high standards. However, my favourite romantic retreats lie at the other end of the spectrum, in small boutique hotels offering a combination of ultra-chic ambience and intimacy that is synonymous with romance. Again, Jamaica excels, with local entrepreneur Chris Blackwell's Island Outpost group having conceived some of the most welcoming and delightful boutique hotels in the world. They draw notables from Naomi Campbell to Pierce Brosnan, but fortunately most are surprisingly affordable.

Weather wise, there are only two seasons: wet (May-Nov) and dry (Dec-April). The best time to visit is during dry season, when rainfall is at a minimum and most of the island basks in sunshine.

In summer, prolonged afternoon showers or heavy downpours are typical island wide. Several days or even weeks of unbroken rain are also possible in summer, however, especially in the northeast, although this varies year to year. Summer and fall are also hurricane season, although the chance of a hurricane actually striking the island is relatively slim.

Though rimmed by coastal plains and fine sandy beaches, Jamaica is predominantly mountainous. In the east, the Blue Mountains (known for the world-famous coffee grown here) rise to 7,402 feet. Despite its relatively small size, the isle boasts several distinct climates: the mountainous northeast, centered on the old banana-shipping port of Port Antonio, receives copious rainfall and is exceedingly lush, whereas the relatively flat south-central coast, centered on Treasure Beach, lies in a rain shadow and the predominant vegetation is cactus and thorn scrub.

Jamaica is remarkably well developed in terms of activities. Visitors can choose from jet skiing, scuba diving, and sunset boat trips to mountain biking, crocodile safaris, and horseback rides.

Flight service to Jamaica which is well served by both scheduled and charter service varies according to season, although there is daily service from throughout Canada and the USA year-round. The best airfare deals are off-season, in summer.

How to make the most of a stag weekend in Budapest

Some useful advice on avoiding the scams.

A stag weekend is all about the stories you bring home, or rather keep to yourselves, and the further from home you go, the more fun there is to be had. Budapest is one of the hottest stag destinations right now - a beautiful city packed with things to see and do, great nightlife, cheap food and drink, and thousands of stunning women. All the same, there are a few things stag weekenders need to be aware of before they board their budget flight.

The trick that most groups fall into is stumbling into a strip club in the early hours and getting fleeced - Hungarian gangsters can ruin almost any night out. But although strippers are an essential ingredient for any stag weekend in Budapest, blowing all your money (or money you don't have) in a seedy club doesn't have to be. The truth is, there are only a couple of clubs that are safe in Budapest. As one forum user on English-language Hungarian portal www.caboodle.hu puts it, "Most strip clubs in Budapest tend to charge for ten bottles of champagne - even though you only had two beers - and then take you round the back when you refuse to pay." And the bill can be in the hundreds, or even thousands, of pounds.

To see some of Hungary's world famous women disrobed in a more welcoming environment, a better bet is to book a stripper to come to where you are. A reputable stag weekend organiser can send girls to almost any venue. An airport limo pick-up or riverboat cruise is the best way to see the sights of Budapest while taking in some sights of the other kind. On the stag night itself, a stag dinner followed by one or more dancers is also a great way to kick things off. Not only does it work out much cheaper than sitting around watching bored girls in an expensive strip club, it's also much more fun.

Another notorious Budapest rip-off are taxis, but if you know what you are doing they are a cheap and convenient way to get around. It may not seem logical, but hail a cab off the street and drivers are practically free to set their own prices, resulting in a large bill for a short journey. Call in advance, and the dispatch centre logs your journey - so drivers play fair and you get the discounted, standard rate. Most staff at the other end of the phone speak English, but if you are not confident with the pronunciation of Hungarian street names, ask a local to help you make the call. Cabs generally arrive within five or ten minutes, so groups won't waste much time and will save themselves a lot of money.

In reality, Budapest is not a dangerous place. Crime figures are remarkably low. You have to go to the cinema to see a fight and the parties go on until dawn, especially if you know where to go. To make the most of Budapest, it makes sense to read up on the hottest venues or pay a couple of extra quid for a guide to show you around, the nightlife is great but the city centre is too spread out for random bar hopping. With a guide, you not only get to see the best venues and meet the hottest women, you also avoid getting ripped off.

How to Keep Your Emotions from Overflowing on the Links

I could start this off with some tired cliché about women being more emotional than men. But we all know what happens on the golf course – the playing field is leveled and men find themselves burdened with the same emotional reactions as women.

Golfers are prone to three basic emotional responses, and if you let them get out of hand, they can have a big impact on your final score. It’s no secret that the game of golf is mental, and your emotions have a direct impact on your mental state.

Anyone who has ever gone to the course with a heavy heart knows that if you go in thinking it’ll be a rotten round, it probably will be. Even overly excited players can cause their ball to hook or slice because their body is amped up with adrenaline.

Don’t Add Anger to Your Scorecard

Anger is perhaps the most frustrating thing to experience when you’re playing a round of golf. You went out to get some exercise, enjoy nature, and hone your skills and you wind up having to go home and de-stress in a bubble bath with candles.

Golf can be frustrating because we always want to hit the perfect shot. Even one slight mishap can irritate us to the point where it affects each subsequent shot. You have to see the game as a whole, and not shoulder the burden of every single shot you make.

Even professionals in the men and women’s pro tournaments have days when nothing seems to go right. But you don’t see them throwing their clubs in the pond or hear them cursing loudly at the ball as it flies off into OB territory.

Because golf is such a mental sport, it’s vital that you keep your emotional frustration minimized so that you can perform up to your abilities on every hole. Some people play as if they can’t see anything but the immediate situation.

You might have the absolute worst (and most embarrassing) tee shot of the day. But you can still come in under par if the rest of your game isn’t affected by the negativity many golfers carry from one hole to the next.

Take each shot for what it’s worth. And really play up the rest of the times you do something right. You have to think positively and breathe through the moments when you feel angry at ever choosing to pick up a club in the first place.

Whatever you do, learn to control your anger on the course to a minimal amount. If it seeps through a bit in your mind, that’s one thing, but it’s bad sportsmanship to let it overflow into everyone else’s game.

Even Excitement Can Interrupt Your Game

Not all emotions are negative. Unfortunately, you might hit an amazing tee shot off the first hole and your enthusiasm boils over so much that you hack every other shot until you’re miserable and feel like quitting.

It’s easy to get excited on the course. You feel proud when you hit the sweet spot and even more so when other people cheer you on and are impressed with your efforts. It’s okay to smile and revel in the moment a bit.

Just don’t get so excited that you’re overly confident in your abilities and forget to line up right, keep your head down, or stay bent in the knees. Sometimes the thrill of a good shot will cause you to have a faster backswing, which will throw your timing off.

As you do with your angry emotions, after they rise to the surface, give it a moment’s pause and then tuck it away to revisit on your ride home from the course. Start every swing over from scratch.

Envy Is the Root of All Double Bogies

Golfers can be as green as the Bermuda they’re standing on. It’s no secret that each and every one of us wants to be the best player in the foursome. But golf itself is like a scramble – sometimes your shot is the best and other times the title goes to someone else.

In golf, you’re not only playing against yourself, to lower your handicap, but you’re also playing against others in many cases. You still have to realize that at the end of the day, the scores of the others in your group won’t be handed in to contribute toward your handicap.

All you can do is the bets that you’re capable of, and instead of becoming envious over another person’s talent, let that inspire you to make an extra trip to the driving range for some more practice.

But in the middle of a game, if you let envy weigh you down, you’ll wind up trying too hard to compensate for what you lack in comparison to the other players. This can take you from two over par total to 2 over par for each hole if you’re not careful.

How To Get Cheap Flights To Las Vegas

Are you after a cheap flight to Las Vegas?

You can start your budget trip to Vegas by getting the cheapest flights to Las Vegas.

If you are prepared to put in a little effort you can find cheap Las Vegas flight deals. Thankfully the Internet makes that really easy for you.

Let’s start scouting the best airfare deals now.

Online Discounters

Look for airfares on http://expedia.com. They have a lot of package deals and get reduced tickets from many large airlines. They are a fast way to see what prices are available, though they won’t necessarily have the lowest prices for you. It’s a great base to start from.

Here are some more online discounters:

Cheap Tickets Expedia Travelocity Best Fares Lowest Fare

Online Consolidators/Auction

http://www.Hotwire.com and http://www.Priceline.com are great places to get reduced airfare prices, provided you are flexible with the times and days you want to fly to Vegas. You won’t get the full details until you have paid. And don’t commit until you have found the lowest rates.

Some airlines advertise internet specials so check out airlines that fly to Las Vegas where you are just in case.

You’d be amazed to find out how much airline tickets fluctuate in a 24 hour period. If you see an airfare you are interested during the day, check again after midnight. Chances are that the price is cheaper.

If all else fails here are a few tricks for getting cheap flights to Las Vegas.

Stay overnight on a Saturday. Flights during the week are always dearer because people are assumed to be high rolling business big shots who fly anywhere during the week.

If your city has more than one airport try the smaller airport. Sometimes they can offer cheaper fares

Be flexible about the time of day you want to fly and the exact date. Look an airline deals for the day before and day after your preferred travel date

The dreaded red-eye flight to Las Vegas. Flying overnight can save you a heap of cash. If you don’t like the idea of flying to Vegas on a red-eye then fly one home. Chances are you’ll be so pleasantly exhausted after your fun Vegas vacation that you will enjoy the extra sleep on the plane.

Never accept the first fare quoted. More often than not a less expensive deal will come up within hours of your booking.

Sometimes it may be cheaper to buy two round trip tickets - one for the day you want to leave home and the day you want to leave Vegas - than buying one regular round trip fare.

Book your flight well in advance. Airlines usually sell tickets much less the earlier you book it.

If you book a flight with an airline and subsequently see them advertising cheaper flights call the airline and complain demanding a refund for the difference

What is the best way to get a stand-by seat?

Reserve an economy seat for your flight. Arrive at the airport the day you want to leave and see if you can get a standby ticket (the best standby days are Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday). If you can get a standby seat then become a no-show on your economy ticket for a full refund.

How To Get Better Deal While Traveling Abroad?

With all the web right at your fingertips, finding cheap airline tickets and vacations is not difficult any more. However, the sad truth of the traveling experience is that it is still very expensive.

Unless you or your family has enough money to finance your vacations and airline tickets, you will have problems with trip financing. Actually, what I really meant to say you will have problems until you learn a few simple bargaining tips!

Cheap travel is more of an approach to travel then it is just one single trick. When you learn the basics of cheap flights and vacations, you should try to implement it in every segment of your vacation.

For example, make an effort and research last minute flights and charter flights and see which one offers the cheapest tickets. Also, when you get to your vacation destination try to get some advice from the natives, ask around and find cheap restaurants, hostels and hotels.

Finding cheap vacations and airplane tickets involves many small things, when you apply them all together, you will be able to save a lot of money, travel on a regular basis and see more of the world.

One of the most important concepts youll have to learn if you want to save your money is bargaining. In many countries around the world, bargaining is not only a large part of normal life, but is also expected when engaged in some kind of a deal.

Most of the people from either Canada or the US hate bargaining and are not very good at it, which is not our fault. Bargaining is just not our way of life, we think about bargaining only with large purchases like a new home or a car.

There is one simple principle you must understand if you want to find cheap tickets and vacations for almost any other part (except maybe Western Europe and Scandinavia) of the world everything is open for negotiations.

When you start doing it, you will soon find out that it is very different then in US or Canada, prices can often be cut in half if you bargain.

Two important principles of bargaining:

1. Do not rush take your time, you will get to your hotel or anywhere else on time. Search around; do not settle for the first thing being offered to you. Ask advice from the locals before buying, they can give you good idea on fair prices and where to look for them.

2. Walk away if you have to. Or at least pretend that you will walk away. Pretend that you are not very interested; say you do not need whatever is being offered to you.

When you get better at bargaining and finding cheap airline tickets and vacations you might even find it entertaining and easy. Be aware that your status as a US or Canadian citizen will brand you as rich in the eyes of the locals even if that is not the case with you.

Therefore, in the end if you do not want to pay double or even more in some cases you will have to learn how to bargain. This should be your most important component in your overall strategy for cheap vacations and flights.

How to Find the Best Travel Deals

If you're looking to find the best travel deals when planning your next vacation, the Internet is your greatest and most convenient resource, offering a wealth of information right at your fingertips-including a wide array of great travel packages and deals, helping you to save a substantial amount of money simply by booking online.

Most everyone wants to save money while vacation planning, and with some time, careful planning, and thorough online research, you'll be able to find the best travel deals, and make your vacation plans accordingly.

If there is somewhere in particular you would like to go, plan in advance as much as possible. Use the Internet to research airline ticket prices and discounts for that destination, accommodation options, as well as attractions and facilities, and find out what kind of deals they have. Some people find that using a very targeted search (i.e., specific destination) helps them find the best travel deals.

However, if you have a more open mind as far as destinations go, you may be able to find even better travel deals. Using this method, you look for what types of special deals and discounts are being offered for various travel destinations-domestically and internationally-and then you make your decision accordingly.

One great vacation money-saving tip is to plan your vacation for the "off-season"-you are almost guaranteed to find better travel deals-for airfare, accommodations, rentals, and activities-if you go this route. Many vacationers actually prefer booking their holiday for the off-season for additional reasons, as well, such as avoiding the crowds and tourist craze.

Timing is important in another respect. Sometimes, if you book online well in advance, you can save a lot of money; on the other hand, with some travel companies and their online deals, it pays to book much later, where you can snag last-minute deals.

Sometimes, you can save money by researching all-inclusive travel package deals online. It certainly is the more convenient route to planning your vacation, and it's true that same all-inclusive plans are money-savers to a certain extent.

However, many people don't know that by booking everything separately-flight, accommodation, rentals, activities, insurance-it really is possible to save a great deal of money; in fact, sometimes significantly more than if you would go with a travel agent and an all-inclusive package.

Booking all the elements of your vacation online and separately can in fact be the most cost-effective thing you do with your travel plans. The Internet allows you to quickly and conveniently compare the costs and discounts offered by hotels and airlines, so you can find and secure the best price. It certainly is worth your time (and money) to go online and research the costs involved in book separately rather than going with a package deal in order to find the best travel deals.

Besides booking individually, make sure you take the time to do enough cost comparison online. Every online travel company will claim they have the best travel deals you can find on the Internet, but you are the one that is going to have to take the time to find out who really has the best deals and prices. The other thing to keep in mind when researching online travel deals is that a particular travel company may have great deals for domestic destinations, but not for overseas. So don't assume that because one company has the best deal in one area, that it necessarily will in another. Research, compare, and research and compare some more.

How to Find Cheap Rents in 5 Cool -- but Hot -- Cities

A leading financial magazine recently put together a list of U.S. cities where one can find still find relatively cheap rents, but that are enjoyable to live in.

While many young college graduates aim to launch their careers in huge metropolitan areas like San Francisco or Los Angeles, many may find satisfaction (and save a lot of money) by looking beyond the major metropolises. The five cites listed below all have a growing "under-30" population and solid job markets:

Athens

The University of Georgia is situated in this college town and is responsible for its unique appeal to young graduates and its subsequent growth. The city offers free wireless Internet downtown, and the university and two regional hospitals help keep the city's unemployment rate impressively low.

Where: Downtown, West side, Five Points Cost: 650-750 dollars a month for a one-bedroom apt., or 750-850 dollars for a 2-bedroom apt.

Atlanta

Atlanta is the state hub and Georgia's most densely populated city, as well as being the center of the ninth biggest metropolitan area in the United States. How to Find a Home in Orlando for Rental during Vacation

Orlando is a beautiful city to visit at any time of the year. And because there are hundreds of things to do in Orlando, a weekend vacation is simply not enough. If you want your vacation in this city to be meaningful even in the smallest sense, consider staying a week at the very least. And to save on money, consider procuring a home rental instead of having to pay the expensive daily rates of hotels.

Home Rental vs. Hotel Stay in Orlando

LOCATION - If you live living close to where all the action is, hotels are usually strategically located downtown but it's possible for you to find homes in the city proper as well. If, however, you're after a suburban lifestyle during your Orlando vacation, a home rental would be more appropriate than staying in a hotel.

COSTS - If you are going to stay for a week or longer in Orlando, you'll find accommodation costs to be more affordable by renting a home. Also, there are lots of costs inclusive in hotel rates while home rentals generally charge you for the cost of the place itself alone. Also, landlords of Orlando home rentals will rarely ask you to limit the number of people living in their property, but the same can't be said for hotel management.

COMFORT - If you're going to rent a home in an exclusive residential community in Orlando, it's possible for you to enjoy all the amenities and more that you can expect from a hotel. Of course, expecting 24-hour room service might be too much.

Tips on Finding a Home in Orlando for Rental during Vacation

During your Orlando vacation, you'll no doubt encounter various types of home rentals so lack of choice definitely won't be a problem. Orlando home rentals can generally be divided into the following broad categories:

Estates and Mansions - You can rent out a mansion and live like royalty in Orlando for a week. Most of these home rentals will provide you with a range of luxurious amenities that will rival those being offered in hotels. Better yet, you can enjoy all of these in utmost privacy.

Resort Home Rentals - Orlando resorts also offer home rentals to family vacationers wishing to enjoy fun in public places. These resorts generally provide guests entertainment outlets such as restaurants, clubhouse, arcades, sports and fitness facilities, and of course pools and other water activities. This is also a good option for people traveling with several families and who wish to reside in one community or common area.

Condominium and Townhouse Rentals - If residing in a place that reminds you of home is what it would take to make you enjoy your Orlando vacation, then you need not worry because this city also offers condominium and townhouse rentals at affordable rates.

Consider the following factors to further narrow the field:
SIZE OR SPACE - Just how much space do you need or desire? Living in a cramped room in a hotel or a rented apartment might cause you to lose some of your enthusiasm for your Orlando vacation.

LOCATION - Try looking for a home that's located as closely as possible to the majority of tourist attractions that you're planning to visit.

FEATURES - How many bedrooms does it have? Is its dining room separate from the kitchen? Does the home rental have a pool? What about a garden? How many car slots do you need in a garage? How many bathrooms are there?

SERVICES - What kind of services do you believe you can't live without? Do you wish for 24-hour security? Are you after round the clock room service? How about the laundry and the cooking? Are you willing to do these chores or would living in a hassle-free hotel environment better for you?

Once you've decided on a particular home rental, make sure that you pay a visit prior to your vacation or have photos of the home rental sent to you. Negotiate diligently with your agent and imply that you have other options to consider. Review the home rental contract provided and don't hesitate to ask questions if you find any of the stipulations confusing. Ask about reservation and payment requirements.

And lastly, if you're truly sure about your choice then what's else is there to do but to sign the check?
